We decided to get a table at XS, one of the guys in the group had been before and wanted to go again. Haven't been to any of them but I am sure it will be an outstanding experience!

Thanks again for all of the advice!

Keep a backup plan just in case XS falls through, 1 bottle min on a weekend there isn't a sure thing. Nothing worse than getting somewhere and they bump you or up the min last minute.

                This varies.

Tipping someone is not going to get you a much better location (say one that fits 5 or 6 people) if you have only 2 people. The exception is if you give an extraordinary tip. (say the price of an extra bottle)

Your like you want to have a special night with someone.

Good for you. I would think you would want something a little more secluded and quite. Usually the top tier tables are in the center of the action, AND THE NOISE.

Thats just something to keep in mind. Contact your host. Tell them your goals.

I tip $100 dollars a bottle if the host is taking care of me.

For a 1 bottle table, that is a good amount unless your have already worked something out.

Another thing to keep in mind is to tip your server and runner well.

Nothing ridiculous but when they go out of their way have some $10's and $20's on hand to make sure they know that you appreciate the extra effort. (and they will give you GREAT service)

                Have fun
