Monte Carlo isn't dirty... It's just a tad south of the central strip, but if that's too far, than so is City Center and PH. It's a decent hotel, nothing special.

monte carlo has decent rooms for their price. just be careful with your stuff. i stayed in a suite there last year with some friends and he was missing about $200 from his wallet when we came back from the pool. we specifically remember putting the "privacy" sign on the door when we left but noticed the room had been cleaned when we came back. we filed a security report but they never heard from them.
