Alright forum, i've finally got around to getting my TR done!! I seriously have a new appreciation of people who write these!! So time consuming and tedious... however since TR's got me excited about my trip, i thought it would be only fair to finish this bad boy. Hopefully you guys enjoy it, even though it is a bit long.

Here's an intro again for the guys that are to lazy to check the start

This trip came about over a few beers around july 2009. Since I was turning 21 in May next year, I decided on why not make the debut in vegas during the semester break for uni next year!
Asked around my group of friends who are keen and two took the bait. A few months out when bookings were being placed one of the crew jumped off the idea (all well shit happens). Leaving just my mate evan and myself.
After hours of research, Bills Gambling hall would be our residence for 8 nights’s. Cheap and in an amazing spot, we just needed somewhere to crash and recharge the batteries so this seemed awesome. Flights were booked to arrive on july 3rd.

Day 1 - Sat 3rd July -ARRIVE, PALMS CLUBS AND COCKBLOCKS

We arrived really early into Vegas from LAX. About 930am on very little sleep, thanks to going all out the previous 4 nights in LA, coupled with being unable to sleep with excitement the previous night. Since it was such an early and short flight, I didn’t get to experience the ‘party flight’ which I often read about on the forums.

The tiredness wore off as soon we saw the strip from the plane, let alone when we set foot on the holy soil. Exiting the terminal a few obligatory cliché douchey VEGAAAS!! Calls were made. It's such a shock seeing the pokies (slot's) right there as soon as you step off, so i chucked in a buck, didn't win and nothing changed the whole trip lol.

We Grabbed our bags and headed out to the cab rank. As soon as the door opens, the heat just smacks you in the face, especially considering we just left the middle of our winter for the hottest part of the year in vegas lol. Dry heat or not, if you can cook an egg on the road, its classified as f@$king hot!! lol
I was unable to book a limo off presidential limo’s since I live overseas, so we just jumped in a normal one…obviously not as much bang for your buck as presidential…. but hey you’re in vegas.

Got to Bills…. Checked in Blah blah. Then just explored our surroundings; ceasars, flamingo, o’sheas, bellagio etc for a few hours and gambling a little bit here and there. We then headed off to the palms to grab our JC approved wristbands for the night ahead. We got the open bar ones for approx $160, well worth it as I’ll explain later on.

We headed back to bills for a snooze. We were pretty knackered already lol… and really haven’t even started drinking. Had dinner and I grabbed one of those ridiculous sized fat Tuesdays that I had no chance of ever finishing. I was drinking that thing for a good 2 hours and was no where near halfway… only bought the smaller ones from there on lol.

We headed back to our room, and started getting ready. Headed down stairs, had a few drinks and went off to the palms. We decided to start off at ghostbar since that’s where we had the hosted bar, so ‘free’ piss until 1am. We were also keen to see how the accent goes down.

Already pretty busy when we arrived, and good looking birds everywhere…I’m usually a massive sucker for accents, so to be surrounded by birds everywhere with one, I was in heaven. We head over to our little bar in the corner, there were only another 2 groups there so about 8 people all up in there. So me and evan were double fisting vodka redbulls. There was never a line the whole night!!

We went scouting around the outside deck/ dancefloor a bit….. Mingling with a few birds, for some reason I kept scouting out girls who were school teachers, just a bit of pointless info I remember lol.

Anyway we met a cool group of girls, that said we should go to rain with them, of course we obliged. We walk in and this place was huuuuge (and I didn’t even go XS)!! Within 5 minutes we lost the group of girls we came in with lol… all well. We only stayed here for a bit anways, music was a bit too techno/ trancey … needed some house tunes and I would of definitely stayed. Also Pauly D (jersey shore fame) was there, so we did a few obligatory fist pumps.

DAY 1 CONT>>>

We then decided to jump on to moon, with the stop over in the playboy club. I’m not gonna lie, this was purely just for a perve at the bunny’s lol. Man they were fine!! (and perky ) Was ok, pretty chilled.

We then made our way to moon. Walked in a it was looking the goods, until I realised the guys outnumbered the girls 84641 to 1. Evan decided to grab a round though, which cost him like $35 odd dollars, so we realised how lucky we were with our hosted bar. We still had a good 30 minutes of free drinks. So we quickly jetted off back to ghostbar.

When we got back up we drank a few more drinks until they closed up. Man I was loving vegas! Talking to anyone and everyone. Then I met easily one of my top two girls of the trip, from a hens night (bachelorette party don’t know what you guys call it) . We hit it off immediately. No idea what her name was though, no matter how much times I asked her, I had one of those nights were it would come in one ear and out the other, something that didn’t impress her friends too much lol :S But didn’t really faze her, ahhh the things you can get away with the accent.

In the midst of things I got a txt from evan saying he’s left (turns out he got a lift home with 5 girls somehow, only to get dropped off though lol) Anyways, this is where I make my massive mistake.
One of the top 5 rules of picking up a girl has to be to isolate her from her friends. What does joel not do?? Isolate her from her friends!!
Instead we all decided to get a cab home at close with her and hew friends as they were staying at the flamingo (right next to us). Seemed cool and no problem.

Except as soon as I sit in the cab what happens?!?! I hear, a long the lines of “excuse me! What the fuck do you think you’re doing!??!” I was like what?? And a bit in shock, thinking what was going on.
The shrek continues “I said what do you think you’re doing?!?! Getting into a cab with my friends, Get out!!!”

Turns out the bride-to-be is having a shit night and might as well ruin the end of mine. I try telling her to squeeze in for a few minutes or we’ll get a bigger cab, which is right behind us! But she wouldn’t have any of that. So with my tale b/w my legs I hope out of the cab. A guy yells out from the cab line “unlucky!!” lol …. Couldn’t do much else but laugh really. So i slumped into the cab behind and got drivin back to bills.

Overall pretty good first night in vegas. The wristbands worked a treat. Moon and rain were a little disappointing but I’ll be more than willing to give them another go. I just found ghostbar had the more ‘loungey’ vibe and music not as loud, so a lot easier to talk to people. I was really excited for the week ahead and the meet-up with JC peeps tomorrow at tao beach!!

Day 2 - Sunday July 4th - Tao beach, my saviour and a quite uneventful july 4th

Woke up pretty early, around 10am, fair to say I was struggling a little bit, but I’ve definitely been a hell of a lot worse. Since we were having a JC meet up at tao beach at around 11, I was pretty anxious and ready to go.

Although, unfortunately evan wasn’t having any of it, he was too keen on just being a lazy stubborn idiot, no matter how much I laid the facts out to him (you travel half way around the world. All you wanna do is sleep? We have free entry!! Think of the amazing birds there etc) he didn’t want to leave from under the covers, push on, and get up. I find out early in the trip he’s just too happy staying in his comfort zone, for the most part (i love the bloke but seriously!). I was pretty pissed and frustrated at him at this point, how he doesn’t want to make the most of his opportunity’s while he is over here is beyond me.

So I head off by myself to the venetian in a cab. Still pretty pissed, but trying to maintain a positive outlook, I’m in vegas baby!. I get out and text royale and see how long he’s off. Say’s about 30 minutes, which gives some time to get blown away exploring the venetian. I wont drab on too much about as I’m sure the majority of you would of witnessed it yourselves.

After looking around for a bit, and grabbing something to eat, which I threw out after a couple of mouthfuls, due to me struggling to hold it down lol. I may have even went into the toilet at one stage just in case it was gonna come up. Fair to say I was in worse shape than I thought I originally was lol. Also my stomach had been giving me troubles the last few days, from the previous weeks of partying. Can’t say I was farting with too much confindence lol

After gathering a steady stomach I make my way to tao beach. Which took me bloody ages!!! Literally a maze for those who havn’t been. See a guy first, go there, get a stamp there and that’s just to get through the first door lol.
Entering the venetian pool area, once again, BAM!! Mind was blown again at how bloody amazingly beautiful (I could easily chuck in a few more adjectives :P) this place was.

I make my way to the line, wait a bit, thanks to ROYALE for being the man!! He set up a guestlist which gave me free entry and in I went. I was still a bit early, so grabbed a vodka RB slushy, the vegas sun was already roasting bodies, so it went down alright. Still struggling though.

After looking around and checking out the surroundings for a bit. I get a txt from royale that he and Nicole are in line. Nerves kick in a little since this is the first time I’ve met people online, let alone from another country where my accent sounds funny and sometime difficult to understand lol. You sort of never know which way it was gonna go.
But fortunately as a lot of you guys know, they are seriously awesome people! We had a laugh about some of the JC stories they had the days prior to our arrival. Spewing I hadn’t come earlier that’s for sure!!

We had a chat, chilled around the pool for a bit.

Unfortunately though things got cut short, and we went our separate way’s pretty early in the day. The sun was too much for me, especially since I didnt eat anything and culminating with many other excuses, I was feeling like absolute shit. Also Nicole had work and royale was returning later after rendezvousing with a friend of his .
Nicole was nice enough to offer me a lift back to my hotel. Unfortunately didn’t get to catch up with these guys again, next time though when I’m back, it’ll be a different story!

Got back, ev’s still in bed watching tv. Told him of what he missed out on and crashed for a few hours. Got up went for dinner. Still struggling, my stomach has never been so sore.

We came to the conclusion during dinner that’ll this will be a recharge night, just chill, relax and get our bodies right as we still virtually had a week left (sounds stupid I know, I regret not going to surrender, but in hindsight, I recon this night got me through my trip, helped extensively by my discovery of pepto too!). Our decision was further proven not a bad one, in that the strip was a complete clusterfuck!! Seriously it was a joke. Could not move anywhere it was that packed. Just relaxed, watched a bit of the world cup, gambled a bit, watched the lebron james saga unfold (amazingly we met a 60 year old cool surfer dude in Anaheim, who actually told us at the time lebron and bosh would be going to Miami, from his ‘good source’) . We'll most probably the least drunk people in america!

All in all, this was our boring and least eventful. Sorry for the not so fun read, but it gets a lot more eventful from here. No photos either sorry as I lost my camera in fullerton a few nights prior.

You are very welcome my man! Aside from Luke and Jason.. you are like another aussie brother to me. Next trip we need to spend some quality drinking time together though! I remember that particular day I had some action going on at the Venetian pool side of things that I had to attend to.

haha, now thats not exactly the case mate, yes ill admit i did whimp out on tao beach, but lets hope joelo gives me a bit more credit in the rest of the TR
