Only way you will be able to tolerate Tao's crowd is if your really wasted, have experience being packed together at concerts or have a table, besides that you will last about a hour.

Wow, I thought all of the Vegas clubs kept out the usual crowd sporting jerseys, hats, tanks, large chains, baggy jeans, air force ones, etc. that would typically classify a place "ghetto". We had no issues back in December with the crowd at any of the Palms clubs on a Friday night. Maybe a tad slow due to the season and whatnot, but my wife and I made the most of it- plenty of room to hang out, dance, laugh our asses off at a very drunk bachelorette party, etc. The bar tenders took very good care of us.

We experienced Tao on the next night and I would fully support your conveyor belt logic. The only way I would go to Tao again would be with a table though. It was overly packed the night we went and seemed on par with an "amateur" type crowd, that or a very young 21 yr old crowd that I would classify as an 18 and up crowd back here in Michigan. If I was a single guy there with a group of friends, I wouldn't have been too impressed with the scenery. Maybe a few more shots would've fixed that. The bar tenders were great though and easily took care of us. We took full advantage of the open bar deal that they gave my wife for the first few hours.
I am going by the crowd, not really the clothes. anyone can put on a sweater vest and a collar shirt to get it. But you get the shoulder bump, the stare downs which is fine but it was mainly the girls seemed scandalous. Just based on my experience when you offer a girl a drink and you dont want to buy all 6 of her friends a drink as well , and she starts arguing forget it. Its one thing if its another girl or two but you get the sense thats the plan they have.
Don't mean to hijack the thread, but I totally relate to you on this. Luckily it hasn't happened to me in Vegas where the drinks are extremely expensive, but in Minneapolis and other cities around the country I have experienced that same ploy...I wouldn't mind buying one girl a drink, especially if she seemed to show interest in me, but for all her friends is ridiculous, as if all of them are broke but decided to go out together, lol.

A couple of times a girl has asked me if I would like to do a shot with her and her friends. Thinking they were going to buy me a shot of something I agreed, and as a gentleman I even was about to offer to pay for my own shot until I'm hit with the truth of the offer. They meant that I would pay for all of the shots and I just got one too. The server would come around and all 5 or 6 girls would point at me and just stand there until it got too awkward and then I would pay because that's the honorable thing to do as a guy in my opionion, and in the places it's happened, the total bill wouldn't be too high. As revenge I would be that tag-along guy who hangs around them all night. I'm not a creep, but when I pay for a drink, it's like an investment, lol. I'm just following it for decent returns.

Heck, when a girl buys me a drink without me getting her one first I don't know what to do. I'm not sure if it's a trick, or if I'm being agressively hit on or something like that. Should I dance for her? I usually end up buying that girl a couple of drinks or shots in return, and don't care really if she doesn't want to leave the club with me (not that it was my goal in the first place, lol).

Sorry for the long hijack, but you brought up something that really got my mind going...
a real minnesotan would've turned off that minnesota nice and put those tramps in their place!

Nohangovers, I'm originally from Wisconsin. I drink beer. I should have refused the offer and had her get me a pbr tallboy. That's what I get for forgetting my roots, lol.

Tao is a real nice club and really the place to be on Thursdays, but after a n hour, you will want to go elsewhere, even the bars get so packed you almost feel like ordering double drinks.

If your loking to dance. Tao is not the spot, if your looking for speed dating before you get whisked away by the traffic police (bouncers) your in the right spot. all honesty, its a great place to check out, then go somewhere else. Try not to grease too much to get in.

            enjoyed reading your reviews.

uhh, i can't' believe she argues with you and called you a cheapskate. she was probably just embarassed though to get rejected.
I guess you're too much of a gentleman, but you shoudl have said something like, yeah, i'll buy your six friends drinks too, but you better be f^&king awesome in bed later.. or, maybe later, when i'm more drunk, and you appear better looking and i can see past your ego and sense of entitlement..
LOL, that funny. I was alittle buzzed and never like arguing with a lady because if i say something rude,, she heads to the bouncer, and guess who wins that battle. I dont mind getting tossed out of a bar for being to agressive with Salma Hayek but not for a 5-6

[QUOTE=ellejay;71964]Ok not to be off topic but to reply to the buying drinks thing...how many girls actually do this? I would never ask anyone to buy me anything and it is classless. I hope in the future you men will see it as a red flag when you are ASKED for something. After all you are strangers and most men OFFER If they want to do something. I bet a lot of girls would agree with me when I say that more often than not I will turn down an offer for a drink because I don't want to spend time with the person and all that comes along with a "free" drink. Anyway never let anyone ask you to buy them something make you feel rude for not doing it. Those types are users and trash.

Ok I feel better now that I got that out![/QUOTE

well to be fair i asked her after we danced if she wanted a drink, then she laid on the 6 friends to buy them drinks.

Maybe I'm just an asshole, but I don't buy girls drinks who ask for them. I usually counter with something along the lines of 'I don't buy drinks for girls who ask, but you can get me one'. Which results in me getting a free drink maybe 25% of the time.

Probably at some smaller dive off the strip. I can't picture any exclusive establishment serving me a tallboy. It's the equivalent of requesting bottle service at the double down, lol.
