Yeah I noticed that!! Loved last night episode I think it is all starting to make sence to me. Desmond seems to be able to stand more then anyone else on the island.
I think what they trying to do it turn back time and have all the people on the island live a alternative life to cover up everything that has happened because if those events happen things get messed up, but now they are showing people are starting to remeber this other part of there lives or (other life) they lived. Hmmmmm.

It's interesting how in Season 3 or 4, I forget, we see Desmond skipping through time. But in this last episode, he's skipping through "alternate universes". It's pretty insane stuff.

The dialog between Desmond and Charlie dragged on painfully... but the rest of the show... woah!! I think it proves my theory about the show's ending somewhat yet complicates it even more. I'm having trouble wrapping my head around the whole thing now.
However, I've been watching the series over again on DVD. I talked about Biblical themes in this thread earlier and Season 2 has a few more. Charlie wanted the baby to be baptized. And when Ben Linus was captured and locked in the hatch he said something like "we're in a place that even God can't see".
Now I don't know everything there is to know about God and religions, so I asked a guy at work who does. He says some people believe the only thing God can't see is Hell. Richard said they are all in Hell earlier. Hmm...

Guest repliedI just talked to my coworker and she said its not purgatory because JJ Abrahms actually did a podcast and announced its not going to be that type of a twist. So I guess we will see what happens. We won't know until the finale.Originally posted by NyceGuy View PostThat's what people thought when the show first started. But it's def not purgatory, but I do believe that the show's central theme is good vs evil. Even the first episode where Locke and Walt play backgammon, and Locke explains the rules of the game (similar to the Wire when the game of Chess is explained), it's a metaphor for the entire show.Originally posted by royale View PostJust saw all episodes and I m finally caught up. I swear Richard episode was like a telenovella for a sec there! But he is a pretty solid actor. So we find out that Jacob is trying to keep all the evils of the world in the island and they are in hell? So I guess the whole show is about being in purgatory.
