Venetian & Palazzo comping rooms

These resort fees crack me up. Why don't they just build it into the rate and advertise those things for "free". People will pay the same price because they will think they are getting a deal and they won't have to deal with the grumblings about resort fees.

I read it somewhere that the resort fees revenues are not taxable by clark county/nv, so it's a tax-free loophole for the hotels. Too busy to confirm that. Some hotels lower their room rates after instituting resort fees, so together it may be similar to the pre-resort fee rate.

yea, it sucks especially when you use a aggregator travel website to do your shopping and your trying to price different hotels. If you are already planning to use Internet or Gym/Spa facilities, then it's not that bad.

It's unavoidable these days, but something to keep in mind.

Resort Fee Daily $17.00 ($19.04 with tax) at both Venetian and Palazzo. Something to consider in the overall cost but if your comp, I think you can ask casino marketing or your host to get it waived.

Yeah this is new to me. The last time I got comp rooms was back in Jan and they didn't charge this $17 resort fee at the time. I guess this is something relatively new.

I guess I could ask them to waive the fees but then again it's only $17 bucks. If I loose enough and am drunk enough maybe I'll ask.

I prefer the Palazzo. Cause it's newer and the rooms are slightly bigger.

Venetian:
Luxury Suite: 650 sqft
Bella Suite: 700 sqft

Palazzo:
Luxury Suite: 720 sqft
Bella Suite: 720 sqft

Another point: when at the venetian, be sure to charge everything to your room, as this will help you accumulate favor towards comps, too... your food, drinks, everything...
