Thats actually where we disagree. If anything your pulling the bait-and-switch, if you havent informed them you have a mixed group. Everyone one knows what "bachelorette party" implies, just like people understand the no male waitress
    policy at hooters.

Of course, having my night ruined, and having to deal with small claims court isnt worth trying to save a few hundred to me.

That is new and absolutely wasn't there when I booked, and is not indicated on my confirmation. Hmmm. Clearly I wouldn't have booked if that was made explicit at the time.

I'm thinking worst case, the two guys just pay whatever admission charge and then join the girls at the table. Then I can go after Vegas.com to reimburse me for the admission. I think Amex will be rather helpful when provided the appropriate documentation.

Do some of the people not drink? It doesn't seem like that much: 2.5 drinks each? (doubles sure, but still not a lot for a whole night for 8)
There are only 5 of us, so a bottle of vodka and a bottle of champagne will be plenty.

that being said, if you have the hosts name and have spoken with them and told them of the party, it should be fine. Do they have a host or do you go up to one of tao's hosts with a voucher or something? How does the actual club approach go?
You just go up to the VIP entrance with the voucher.

I guess we do disagree -- that's B.S. Do you think they are going to ask for the wedding invitations to make sure that one member of the group is actually getting married? If it were a birthday celebration would that be allowed or not?

If Vegas.com wanted to have these stipulations, then they shouldn't have accepted my money in advance as part of a non-refundable package without clearly spelling out the terms.

And I don't think there's any social rule or convention against the gay brother of the bride-to-be and his partner attending a bachelorette party. Besides, Wikipedia says "participants are usually all women." It doesn't say "always". Obviously this is a minority situation, with, you know, the whole gay thing...

Not to be abrasive, but I have got to agree with dnix here, I'd be wary, that's exactly how I picture these guys operating. Just like they'd kick you out if you wore a cap or weren't properly dressed or a charging $16 for a redbull (yes they do that-you can see my reciepts on this site).

Oh, didn't see the champagne. Didn't see that it was 5 (I got my threads crossed). No matter what, Once you get in, you'll have fun. It's a really good spot.

I would just take care of the host really well.
That being said, if you're asking if it can be done, you're probably not at the level where you could pull it off.

You want to be at the club where girls want to be... not where guys get good bottle deals.

            Well, for what it's worth...

I called Vegas.com and they called Tao -- yes the package is Female-only but they said there would be no problem adding the guys to the guest list but we'd have to pay admission (and it wasn't clear we'd have front-of-line access). We could join the group at the table. Partly out of annoyance/principle and partly out of not wanting my sister to have to deal with any hassles at the door, I requested they cancel the package and refund the money, which they did, although I had to push them to waive the $25 cancellation fee.

I'll just make the table reservation through Larson who indicated he could probably do a 1-bottle minimum if we arrive before 10:30pm. So we won't get the Champs and we'll have to "settle" for Absolut or Stoli at the same price (how terrible), but we'll all get in at the same time, which is really what's most important to us.

The thing that you guys probably don't understand is that I would never go to one of these nightclubs on my own volition. Not my scene. My partner and I are going because we want to celebrate my sister's 21st birthday with her and her friends. So I was trying to find some compromise between having a good time and not spending ridiculous amounts of money on something that we really wouldn't normally do. 2 liters of 80 proof alcohol for 5 people, one of whom doesn't drink a whole lot, is just excessive -- remember, it's the girls that want to be at the club, I'd be happy in a bar/lounge at the hotel/casino. So it would really pain me to have to spend for that second bottle because all I'd be getting out of it would be more alcohol than I could drink... Thus I though that this package was a good deal for my situation, with Larson's offer as a good backup.

              1. I think they would check the birthday person as everyone is ID'd.

              2. I don't think the object is to pass off as gay to save some money. (if you are gay - disregard)

              3. I checked with the appropriate sources: Vegas dictionary, a group of all females looking to have a good time; may operate under the pretext of getting married to take advantage of good deals or attention. While they might not be single, women in these groups may operate under the pretext of being single for the purposes of the group.

              Lol

Not sure what you mean -- I realize that. The party was reserved in the name of the birthday girl and she will be there with ID.

Well, the latter. As I wrote above, it's not about saving money, it is about not spending money on something that isn't that interesting to me (but I "have" to do anyway). Like watching a bunch of straight d-bags in Ed Hardy shirts hit on girls. Well, on second thought, maybe that would be interesting (except if they're my sister!).

But I do know people who have had their best gay friend participate in (if not plan) the bachelorette party. Not in Vegas, but it is real life folks -- don't be so close-minded.

Dude, I'm just bustin balls. I want you, hell, I think everyone, wants you to totally kill Vegas as cheap as you can; at least as affordably as possible. We just don't want a fellow jc member to get the shaft at the front door (and adversly effect your sister's b-day). As for being gay, it wouldn't matter one way or another to me.

There won't be any ed hardy t shirts at tao.

                    This isn't Jersey Shore.

Jersey Shore is an awesome show btw.

I think I lost an IQ point or two after watching the first few episodes. Did MTV think that the Real World was losing its edge so they had to come up with this? Kids that find it tough and struggle to work in a t-shirt store? Seriously?

It basically takes reality tv and distills it down to everything that makes it absurd and entertaining.

Everyone is just a caricature of a caricature, and there's no subtlety.

                        Perfect reality tv.
