The stagger back to the room from the palms was the only bad point I can think of... but even then it was carpeted which means no shoes for the wife on the way back - which is good from her point of view.

After reading all of this, I am thinking of PP next time,

How are they as far as comps after the first visit after playing there, I get treated decently by MGM properties which is one reason I tend to stay with them. But if Palms and PP take care of good offers after first visit it may be worth the switch.

Also wondering if anyone has gone VRBO for PP and how it was as far as ease and price compared to booking direct.

I like Palms Place as well. But, have you looked into Sky Lofts at MGM Grand?

The Sky Lofts were WAY out of my price range...lol

I did just book a 2 bedroom Aria sky suite. This hotel opens next month and the pictures i've seen are amazing. It is the same price i was getting at the Palms Place so I think we are going with this instead.

looks awesome, but just beware that typically when hotels just open up they can be a bit of a cluster fuck, but as long as you open your mouth they wil take care of you by comping you etc. also there may still be construction goin on for the rest of citycenter so it might be loud a times, but youll be on the strip in a nice suite so def not a bad move....one more thing, getting in and out of there may be a clusterfuck because of the construction, I know that that part of the strip is a complete standstill so anticipate some minor issues going in

Cool...thanks for the advice. Although it only has 2 king beds, we may just get some fold out beds. PP is nice but i gotta give this place a try.

They actually are giving me 2 rollaway beds at no extra charge. The concierge has been very responsive to my emails...guess they're really trying to impress since its a new hotel!

I stayed in Encore last year. I had two adjoining rooms. Each had two king beds and big couch seating area. I did not get a specified party suite, but these rooms were great. We used one for sleeping and the other for partys. The vibe there is really good. The casino is smaller than Wynn, but with XS there it is really fun. Definitely recommend trying it out.
