Ties really depend on your look and what your going for. I was thinkin about the same thing but I never wear ties so I feel funny when I wear one so no go for me. But some people can pull off a tie look.

I wear a suit to work everyday, so I'm comfortable in ties; at work, though, it's always conservative fashion - light blue/white shirt plus tie. I always like the opportunity to wear dark red/black shirt with a tie, sometimes with dark jeans and a blazer.

But if it would be too odd in Vegas, I'll go normal shirt + slacks/jeans.

I'm not gonna lie, I enjoy rocking out the tie every once in a while. Those thin ties with a nice dress shirt/designer jeans... I like varying the look a bit.
