Room rates will come down and I wouldn't even bother looking at this time. For myself... I would be coming solo for a couple nights so I would be willing to bunk with criminals or rapists in a room.

I know everyone has their preference when it comes to hotels, but would it be possible to get some sort of group rate if a bunch of us decided to stay at the same hotel?

we will def work on that, once we establish how many people are going im sure we could get a group rate.
