Most girls I know get all excited and energetic when they hear "there song" so its great 4 the masses. I go 2 different shows 4 music but I admit I prefer top 40 2 dance 2.

some have caught on, you just have to know where to look. electronic dance music just isn't very popular here. in fact i have many friends who would prefer a top 40 club over perfecto because they hate house music.

Some house hits mixed in with top 40/hip hop is the way to go. Listening to 5 straight hours of house beats is quiet dull after awhile.

Tryst practically shut down when that song was played. Girls were running out of the bathroom...(I know this because I was in line). Go figure. It's like the Bee Gee's...can't stand them but most of my friends love them. I think I need new friends!

Not if they are a good house DJ. Deadmau5 mixes his stuff in at different paces. There would be an hour of mellow stuff, then an hour of more intense hits. He usually finishes it off with his top 10 tracks. I was at Wet when he did his thing for 7 hours, there wasn't one dull moment.

Interesting to hear your point about management DJ Ran and yes, Vegas being a destination which attracts people of all ages would need to cater for the masses I suppose. Ibiza and the WMC caters for people who are into that genre of music. But I would still say, as Royale mentioned earlier, it's more of an American tradition.

This is not the case as I have never liked chart music (commercial music) and therefore it would not be possible for me to 'stop liking it'. I certainly do not dislike a certain genre of music just because other people like it. That's a crazy assumption.

The buzz that is created when the likes of Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Roger Sanchez, Carl Cox etc. play in a club is unique and I just don't get that feeling when I hear chart music in a club. But hey, that's just me. If everyone was the same, it would be a boring world.

I know it's a matter of personal taste but the music they play in Vegas clubs is poor. I mean Top 40 ! It's like being in a high school disco! The music that is prevalent in Europe (Ibiza for example) is on a much higher level (more energy) and I know it's one person's opinion but it seems to be the way of all Vegas clubs. Why? I would have thought that at least some clubs would have cottoned on to this trend. I heard the phrase 'catering to the masses' but is it though? There is no blanket of music type in Las Vegas, it varies with every venue and DJ. Prive is known for Hip Hip for example, while blush plays more 80's music mixed with top 40. My favorite is the Euro styles at XS and the house at Wet.

Yeah - I've noticed that Paul Oakenfold is at Rain. Now if he was at XS that would be a perfect match but alas it's not to be.

Oakenfold could never be as good at XS because Rain keeps the energy in the room (no huge windows outside), now add the fire show and the 4 tiers with acrobats hanging and you have a winner.

The style of music at these places suit more of the american crowd. You probably want to hit up one of Jet's house nights, and I think BE has one as well.

Most clubs will play slower songs to start off the night, then as the room gets packed, start to bring up the pace

You make a good point here Darryll, quite true. However, I'd rather a less successful Oakenfold than the top 40 lol.
