Your favorite cocktail while in Vegas

I thought a true AMF has 151 as the rum part.

That was off the bartenders website, so the ones in Vegas may have 151, but i never really knew

The prospect of getting completely smashed does not much appeal to me, so I mainly drink beer when I go out. It allows me to keep a buzz going while keeping an even keel. The thing is, I'm very particular about what I like (Yuengling is as low as I'll go as far as beers I'm willing to pay for), and most nightclubs have a godawful selection. So when I find myself in a club, I usually stick to gin and tonics or just don't drink. I'm not too happy with this state of affairs, so I've been doing some research into cocktails I can order that aren't too frat-boyish. Whiskey sours sound pretty good.

What do you consider "frat-boy" drinks?

If I want to drink in a controlled fashion - Gin and Tonic with Lime Cordial.

If I want to drink to impress a girl - order her a cream soda shot - vanilla Stolichnaya, Ginger Ale and grenadine or a Vitamin C/Touchdown - Absolut Mandarin drop shot into a small glass of Redbull.

If I want to get mangled - drink Incredible Hulks (Hennessey and Hypnotiq), Irish Carbombs (151's dropshot into a glass of Guinness)

If I want to order a line of shots - flaming Moes (aka flaming Dr. Peppers: amaretto w/ a topping of 151 or flammable liquor drop shot into a glass of beer).

My favourite in Vegas: 3 Grapes vodka blackcurrant, a shot of it.

Dirty Vodka Martini....don't know why...but they kept me going all night long!!

I've also taken a liking to OJ & Cognac with a splash of club soda and some grenadine (anything higher than a VS cognac should be neat and in a snifter!).

haha. i have a buddy who drink Incredible Hulks, i couldnt really acquire a taste for them.

What do you consider "frat-boy" drinks?

I've been thinking about it, but I'm struggling to come up with a dictionary definition. Think of the difference between a single malt scotch and a Jager bomb and you'll have your answer.

Another good one I've had is Texas Snakebite! It's Yukon, Jack, amarreto, and lime juice in a shot! Good stuff! Very sneaky!!!

if you get a greatful dead is chambord on the top and its SOOOOOOOOOOOOO good. It has another name but just tell the bartender to make a long island and float Chambord. Its heaven in your mouth I assure you.

Here's what I got from Idrink.

0.25 Blue Curacao
0.25 Gin
0.25 Rum
0.25 Triple sec
0.25 OVAL Vodka
Directions: Fill pint glass with ice. Add all liquers. Add a splash of Sweet and Sour, and a splash of lemon-lime soda. Float Chambord on top.

I always thought it was an AMF with Chambord...which seems to be true.

The drink above isnt an AMF (or long island which is the OG)

The black widow does not have tequila

while AMF, Long Island, and Greatful Dead do.

AMF:
ingredients :

1 oz Gin
1 oz Light Rum
1 oz Tequila just under
1 oz Vodka
1 1/2 oz Blue Curacao
2 oz Sweet and Sour
splash of sprite if you feeling sassy
