It is just so big there, yes, the walk back to your room after clubbing (especially if you are a girl with heels on) can seem like the green mile but just request room close to elevators... its just so big.. same with Mirage.. I personally prefer to be on the other end of the strip but its a nice hotel if you like that end.. I didn't have any complaints when I stayed there. .

I definitely prefer being center strip, somewhere like Bellagio is ideal with the girl, but with all the deals I'm getting at Mandalay, MGM and Luxor right now, it's hard to stay anywhere but the South end..

I used to have a very big soft spot for MGM up until my last trip. Our second day there I was gambling downstairs for a bit, having some free drinks and so on. My bestfriend and hotelmate decided to go upstairs and have a nap. I then receive a frantic call from her telling me to get upstairs NOW.

I get upstairs to find two men in our room taking inventory of all of our things (and with three women staying in the room, the bathroom alone must have been a daunting task). I'm not sure how long they were in our room but needless to say - I was fucking furious. The man told me, who was fairly rude, that this room was to be vacated immediately and that the records showed that the room was vacant.

I was absolutely fucking FLOORED. I showed him the receipt with my name and the room number (the room in which we were staying in for a day already and had working keys!). He told me there was nothing he could do and he and his coworker would continue to rummage through our things and start taking them to lost and found if things were not resolved by a manager.

I hauled ass downstairs, had to wait in a twenty minute line and FINALLY able to talk to someone who could help me. It turns out that the front desk woman had accidentally put the wrong room number in the system, yet on our receipt and our keys were for the room we were actually occupying. Fifteen minutes later I get a "So sorry about that." I go back to the room to find the men gone, but our room was even more of a disaster than before.

Not even thirty minutes later, two housekeepers come in, no knocking - just entered thinking the room was vacant. I called Front Desk and complained until blood ran out of my ears - only to get a comped meal at the Buffet.

Two hours later, another man dressed in black walked right in to the room thinking it was vacated. After another complaint to the downstairs I got a late check out for our departure day.

I was stressed out the entire day and dealing with people constantly flooding in to our room (I finally put a sign on the door that said " THIS IS NOT VACANT. STAY THE HELL OUT." And when my hotelmate and I went to eat at the Buffet, there were ants in my food.

I didn't get comped or apologized to for it, just asked if there was anything special we wanted from the kitchen. I didn't particularly feel like Ant Soup, so we left promptly.

Also, the maids took my robe and assumed it was the hotel's robe. I filled for a missing item downstairs and to this day I am still minus my favorite - and slightly expensive robe.

MGM really disappointed me this stay. It was a nightmare!

Also, make sure you have a credit card on file with enough free credit ,or else you will not get the dining credits. We payed cash and were told we could not get the comped benefits, even though we had signed up for them months before.

wow......that sux. I never really had a bad hotel experience in Vegas. And Ive stayed a some cheap ones.

Agree. The worst thing I've dealt with was at the IP. You could hear everything in the hallway. We were right by the elevator too and could hear every single conversation. So i'd have to disagree with mojo on being close to the elevators)

Well, first of all, there is a difference being right by the elevator and relatively close enough so that its not a trek to your room.. I didnt mean literally the first room.. secondly, I can't speak for IP as I have never stayed there.. Ive stayed at Wynn, Mirage, Caesars, NY NY, MGM, Mandalay, Paris, PH, and Venetien, and have always been pretty close to the elevators and never had a problem of noise..

After all my few stays..............nothing is better than MGM SKYLOFTS, the service is just crazy, private elevator with butler service is hands down best in vegas.......well for me, some of my big bottle poppin friends say the Suties at the Palms are just as good.
