The name of a club tells you absolutely zero about how much fun a club will be.

If the music is bumpin and the chicks are smokin.. you can call it whatever you damn well please

Exactly. XS could be named XYZ for all I care. I think name branding will only go so much in Vegas since it has to make a good impression and word of mouth on its own. If they used an existing brand name and promoted it as good as these Tier 1 clubs, then of course great for them. But a name wont guarantee lines at the front of door. There's dozens of clubs to go to Vegas. If it doesnt make a good impression, theres so many more choices for the clientele to go to.

      ***June 2012 - Aria - Marquee ***July 2012 - Monte Carlo - XS
      ***Aug 2012 - Aria - Marquee, XS ***Oct 5-6 - Monte Carlo - Marquee

In order to be able to bring in good DJ's and hot chicks is to able to promote it. In order to promote, you need to name/brand it correctly. If you have a retarded name that people don't understand, then those people won't want go to that establishment.

I have friends that that own nightclubs and we always have discussions regarding on how to name a club. Always the #1 way to naming a club is to have it roll of your tongue easily and so that it stands for something. Example: Tryst: 1. an appointment to meet, esp secretly, 2. the place of such a meeting or the meeting itself....makes sense.

That's the may I feel about it, but I understand everyone thinks of it differently.

With that said though, will someone please bring back Body English!
Agree with your point, except the major difference in your example is that the group that ran Marquee in NYC, used that experience to start and run Tao in Vegas, Lavo in Vegas, and Lavo NYC and then to a Marquee in Vegas. So it's been a successful ownership group in Vegas/club scene for a while now. No clue who's running pink elephant or what other major nightlife presense they have in vegas.

A few friends and I were talking the other night about how one of the Vegas hotels needs to do an indoor pool that hosts indoor pool parties year round since pool parties are such a HUGE part of summers in Vegas, so I think the concept of having one inside a club is pretty bad azz in itself!

I was just asked about pool parties in Vegas, and when I told them the pools shut down in October, they asked what hotels had the indoor pool parties.... I thought for a second, and said "none". I think ChiTownChik is right. This could be the tip of an iceburg with this.

Actually, it only takes one drink to get me loaded. Trouble is, I can't remember if it's the thirteenth or fourteenth.

A good friend would bail you out of jail, but your best friend would be the one sitting next to you saying, "damn that was awesome".

I live for the nights I can't remember with the people I'll never forget.

Indoor pool parties would be so sick. I'd start coming to Vegas in the non-summer season finally.

No indoor pools yet but Lavo is starting their Saturday brunch party in October. In the video some of the girls were wearing bikini tops. This may be the start of more daylife even in the winter. Only in Vegas.....
