I completely agree with the numbers for Tao. The magnum is not the better deal based on price. I think we all know each club is different, so its best to just give the menu a good once over to see what is best for you.

My personal experience overall is that servers generally will give you good information about the menu. Any server will try and "upsell" or keep offering you stuff, I get that, but if you approach them in the right context I think you may get correct info from them.

I think you may see better deals (very slight) in frozen drink pitchers vs individual drinks at pool parties versus bottles. The magnum is usually priced higher just because there is more status in ordering the big bottle versus the standard 1L ones. Better presentation and looks cooler.

You simply stating a magnum was not as good as a standard one liter does not hold water unless you provide pricing.

Now don't get me wrong, I've been to WET and got a day bed the last two years, (first time 2 people, second time 3 people) and went above our min by ~$1K each time. I don't mind spending $500 for a $45 bottle of vodka, but don't piss in my face and tell me its rain.

true, but then someone had to tell her that a magnum was a better deal. And that person had to know, right? If the waitress was smart she'd figure out how much a better deal it was and tell the customer "hey get the magnum instead and you'll be saving $xxx" Boom, customer wins, waitress wins.

But that's never the case and they know it's not a better deal. Unless it was her first day on the job.

That's a lot of leg work to do for an internet forum chat. I guess if it is in your interest to be right, then sir, you are correct!

Magnums seem work better for those who want a little more "show off" at their table. Looks like the premium for that is roughly $60-$100 more to do it. Big bottles do look cooler at the table though!

It would be interesting one day to poll every table that had a magnum and ask, did you buy the magnum b/c it's a better value [sic] or is it b/c you are a baller. Excluding a few guys here, I'd say most are kinda concerned about table mins with all the "split tables?" and "how much for 3 guys" threads we have here. Who really wants to pay more for less?

sorry broseph, a waitress has never told me that it was a better deal to buy a pitcher over a glass. Now if she had, and I had my suspicions I'd already know the answer (like I did above) to your question.

I'd love to see someone roll up to a table and go, "Hey bro, see you guys got a Magnum of Goose there. You know that you would be saving $73.48 if you bought 1L bottles instead!"

Now you know! And knowing is half the battle!
