Looks like we will be sticking with Daylight based on everyone's input on these forums...Looks like we will be getting a cabana. Thanks for the help...One other thing, what's the deal regarding tipping the host / promoter that reserves the spot for you? Is it necessary? Or is that figured into the minimum since they auto add tax and gratuity? Do they get a cut of that?

You definitely need to tip your host. That amount is NOT included in your minimum and they do NOT get a cut of the tax/grat/min spend from what I understand. They make the majority of their income off tips for their services.

Depending on your minimum $200-300 is likely a fair tip for a cabana assuming your min is ~3000-4000. For comparison we are handshaking (tipping) $200 on a $1500 daybed min that day to help ensure we get the location we want.

Vegas is definitely crazy with the tips but the industry is built around it and the people who earn those tips rely on them to make a living.

Weather Underground (more reliable IMO) shows 0% precip sat and sunday so I'd not sweat it.

IF it's a passing shower they just clear the pool I think... If the day is miserable and a loss I'm PRETTY sure you can just contact your host and back out of the reservation. As with anything the more notice you can give your host the better, but I don't think they reasonably expect anyone to sit in a thunderstorm and pound a thousand bucks in booze though
