All of the Big Pools will be hurt by Daylight. Every one has been there done that at all of the other pools. I think you will see the impact on Fridays & Sundays. Not necessarily on Saturdays as much. I think it will be more reflected in the mins vs the number of people in the venues (lower mins at some of the larger older pools). I believe 1/3 of Vegas visitors are from Cali (1/4 So Cal) and a lot have been everywhere muliple times, that means a lot of these trips will be about seeing the new spots, clubs and pools. For instance, XS / Marquee and the other new clubs didn't kill Pure.. It's still busy on Saturday/ ratio-talent not not the greatest, but I can go to Pure now and get two bottles for $475 or whatever ON Saturday (that wasn't going down back in the day). Same effect for pools.Last edited by kazflair; 03-27-2013, 10:31 AM.Isaac Kaz Curry

I completely agree with your analysis here. More competition within the market should hopefully help the LV consumer. How about the net effect on nightlife and what's the likelihood we could potentially see lower minimums with the additions of Light and Hak?Originally posted by kazflair View PostAll of the Big Pools will be hurt by Daylight. Obviously there will be some dipoff in the opening few months of Daylight since it's close by and people will definitely want to check out something new... But are you expecting the usual summer crowd at Wet?
It remains my favorite spot for a day scene and I hope it stays that way!

I was thinking the same thing but the whole opening day kinks in the chain so to say would concern meOriginally posted by Joeysarsenal View PostHanging onto my seat for that lineup.
I think regardless we will be going to Daylight opening day, who can refuse a pool party on opening day? :P
I wouldn't want to be stuck in line for hours because its a mad house the first day
I def want to check it out one of the 4 days I'm in Vegas though

I've thrown a lotta parties in my day and once you get the basics down you can scale it as needed. Make sure lines (booze/bathroom) are short, drinks are reasonable (relative) and plentiful, crowd ratios are good, and entertainment/venue is ready. Outside that everything else is noise.Originally posted by Richard Doughty View PostI was thinking the same thing but the whole opening day kinks in the chain so to say would concern meOriginally posted by Joeysarsenal View PostHanging onto my seat for that lineup.

No way MB is flying blind on this. I can guarantee you they've either brought in someone with experience with day clubs, or their current staff was comfortable enough having hosted the other big events at the property in the past. I'd be amazed if there were any hiccups noticeable to the customer.
We'll see though I guess. ha!Wedding @ Riviera '06 • March Madness @ Mandalay Bay May 2010 • Bachelor Party @ Palms Jul 2013 • GF's Birthday @ Cosmopolitan Oct 2013

About on avg how many tables are there at the xs/marquee/tao/ect?

EastCoast: "I will preach. Vegas is easy. So easy. Either be rich or good looking (or mooch off someone who is one of those). If you are neither, then sit back, let the rich and/or good looking people sort their shit out, and then take their scraps. Booking early is not going to get you ahead of the rich and/or good looking people. Sucks unless you are rich or good looking. But that's what makes Vegas so great. It is completely transparent."
