Since I'm from the US, I've never had the ID problem here but when I visited Europe, I used my US ID to get into clubs/Bars and left my Passport locked up in the hotel room.
Even when I travel within' the US, I carry two forms of ID. Call a few places ahead of time and see if they accept your country's regular ID for admission and at bars. That way you can carry that with you. I understand partying is what we all go to Vegas for but your Passport is your way back home.
Now, for everything else...Cash, Credit Card, ID...I wrap mine up in saran wrap in a zipped up pocket. So they don't get soaked and they're on me secure at all times. The only thing I have to keep secured elsewhere is my phone but I use a back-up iPhone in Vegas, so I'm never too worried about it.
